It's Day 27 of the New 31 Day Challenge with Crumpet's Nail Tarts and the theme is to create a mani inspired by myself! Let me talk about myself a little bit here. I am a Special Education Teacher. I have always been involved with Special Education (of all ages) ever since high school and it has become my passion. I have had students with all different types of disabilities ranging from mental to physical. It may sound silly, but I love my job and I wouldn't change anything about it (even though sometimes I get beat up and come home with bruises). I have always been an advocate for Autism Awareness and have had some really amazing students living with Autism that have impacted my life - so that's where my mani comes into play. I decided to create the Autism Puzzle Piece on my nails to represent ME and how inspired I become by these children. I will never stop helping and doing all I can to better their lives. It is definitely a challenge, as a teacher, to differentiate lessons to fit each student (since they all learn differently) but it is so rewarding when you see them progress and grow.

ReplyDeleteAs the parent of a child with autism, thank you. Thank you for your devotion to these kids of all abilities. As a graduate student in Family and Disability Studies, thank you. Thank you for letting me know that it will be worth continuing my education in order to help other families like my own.
ReplyDeleteMy Mom used to be a Special Education teacher, and I know how hard but rewarding the job can be. While your students inspire you, you inspire me too! <3
