I just did this mani with high hopes in mind - but it turned out to be a big flop & fail. I started with plain colors, then added glitter, then added an indie polish from Naild'It called Indie-Pen-Dance Grand Finale. I loved it in the bottle, but it was very difficult to apply and I ended up having to fish out the glitters, because I would put it on my nail and maybe three or four glitters would transfer. It was very bumpy when dried and I even put two coats of SV on top of it. It's sparkly, but I dislike it because of it's bumpy texture and pieces of glitter still sticking out of the top coat. I love the look of the polish - but the application was just not working for me.
I didn't bother cleaning this one up because I was going to snap some pictures, post it and take it off. Do any of you have any suggestions for "taming" unruly glitter?
Here's What I Used:
White Base: Pure White Superstar
White Base: Pure White Superstar
White Glitter: China Glaze Snow Globe
Blue Base: Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Pacific Blue
Blue Glitter: China Glaze Dorothy Who
Red Base: Pure Ice Siren
Red Glitter: China Glaze Ring in the Red
Glitter Top Coat: Naild'It Indie-Pen-Dance Grand Finale

I've been debating on getting that glitter polish because it does look so good! For glitter I use a coat of gelous followed by SV
ReplyDeleteNumerous coats of top coat. I have Gelous but haven't tried it yet. I'm sorry you didn't like it. I think it looks great!

Sorry you didn't like it, I think it is simply adorable!
ReplyDeleteI think it's beautiful! I wish had some tips on taming glitter, I usually just push it down and add a thick layer of top coat!
ReplyDeleteThe only way I know how to handle bumpy glitters is put tons of top coat on. This looks okay, but eh. For me.
ReplyDeleteI actually really like it (: Its different than the usual stars and stripes, yet still so patriotic. The thumb is my favorite.
